Emily Cheung started learning the piano in her early age. During her secondary school life, she had already gathered much experience as an accompanist. She achieved a Performance Certificate of the Trinity College of Music, London in 1995, and graduated from Diocesan Girls’ School in the next year.

Emily was one of the guest performers in the Opening Ceremony of the Student Leadership Conference 2000 organized by the City University of Hong Kong, thereafter, she attained a MA Degree in Applied Translation of the University of Leeds in UK in 2004 and was the pianist of many school musicals of the YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College (YHKCC).

She is a piano tutor of the Discovery College since year 2009. She participated in the “King of the Instruments” - Organ Education Series in 2007, studying the organ with Ms. Chiu Siu Ling and Ms. Gloria Wo, and performed in the Student Finale Concert.

Emily obtained a Certificate of Teaching from the Associated Board Royal School of Music (ABRSM) in 2012, a Diploma of Teaching (ABRSM) in 2013 and attained an MA Degree in Musicology at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing in 2014. Emily has completed the International Harp Therapy Program (IHTP) in 2024 and is an accredited therapeutic harp practitioner.
