Yvonne is an experienced vocalist and music teacher who hails originally from Glasgow, Scotland. She qualified with diplomas in classical clarinet, BA (Hons) degree in jazz vocal performance and composition, and later, a P.G.C.E in Secondary music from Manchester University. Whist living in the UK, Yvonne performed with soul, pop and jazz ensembles and taught classroom music and vocal studies in primary, secondary, and further education colleges, for many years.
In 2012 she moved to Seoul, South Korea, with her saxophonist husband to teach music at Dulwich College. Two years later Hong Kong called, and in 2014 Yvonne moved to take up another International teaching post at an ESF school, where she led various choirs, orchestras and other musical ensembles, whilst also teaching drumming, music technology and theory.
Since arriving in Hong Kong, Yvonne has also been appearing with her own jazz group, the YBQ, at venues around the city, such as Peel Fresco and the FCC. She also performs regularly at both corporate events for companies such as China Telecom, and private functions such as weddings. Yvonne also works with clients through Team-building Asia, coaching in choral singing and performance skills. She continues to have a passion for Arts Education and teaches vocal/instrumental studies to both private and ESF students, and currently works with Elsa High and Carmel school students, ranging from Kindergarden to IB Music.
