Well-being & Student Life in times of uncertainty

In a time of unpredictability and change, student wellbeing is more important than ever. This highly relevant and important session will focus on the challenges of transition, how to develop coping strategies and ultimately thrive in a new environment.

Dr Anisha Abraham will be talking-to Y12 & Y13 students about strategies to help handle stress, anxiety, face the challenges of transitioning to high school and then on to university, screen time, sexual health and more based on her recent book Raising Global Teens. Still unsure what to do after finishing school? If the answer’s yes, don’t feel anxious! Join us from the University of Leicester as we tell you all about the various opportunities available after high school (both traditional and unconventional), as well as how you can transform your passions into a career, how to choose the right pathway, subject and location for you – and most importantly, why it’s absolutely okay not to know exactly what the future holds right now.

Planning your career in an age of uncertainty

The megatrends that are reshaping the world around us – from artificial intelligence and the 100-year life span to global warming and global pandemics – are transforming how we live and work in unprecedented ways. The working environment of the future will be increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. In such a context, choosing the right degree and building a successful career requires being planful, well-informed, self-aware and willing to adapt.

Drawing on insights from human resource management and psychology, this session will help you to plan much more effectively in this era of career disruption and uncertainty.
